Museo de las Momias

Museum · Centro · Explanada del Panteón Municipal, Guanajuato

Good to know:

One of Guanajuato's most famous and unusual museums, built around naturally mummified bodies from the city cemetery. It is memorable, macabre, and best suited to visitors comfortable with human remains.

Visitor note: Check opening days before building the route, then group this stop with nearby plazas or museums so the day has a natural walking rhythm. Museums in Guanajuato are strongest when they explain a layer of the city: independence history, mining wealth, art, Cervantino culture, or local legend.
