First Day Center Loop
A compact first walk through the historic core, ending with the Pípila view so the city layout finally clicks.
Route
-
Orient at Jardín de la Unión
Use the shaded triangular garden as your meeting point and first read of the center.
-
See Teatro Juárez and San Diego
Pause for the theater facade, steps, and the church beside the garden before the streets get narrower.
-
Plaza de la Paz and the basilica
Walk the sloped civic plaza and step inside the basilica area if it is open and quiet.
-
University steps and Pocitos
Use the university facade as a photo stop, then drift toward Pocitos for a denser museum-and-alley feel.
-
Funicular or climb to El Pípila
Finish above the city. The viewpoint makes the tunnels, plazas, and hillside streets easier to understand.
Notes
- Use the funicular if you want the view without the full climb.
- Start early or late afternoon if you want softer light and fewer crowds at the Alley of the Kiss.
